Location
Monkey Island is a peninsula on the northern shore of Grand Lake o' the Cherokees, located 8 miles southwest of Grove, Oklahoma. It is 6 miles long from north to south and State Highway 125 runs through the peninsula to its southern end.

This is a photograph of a burl (American English) or bur or burr (used in all non-US English speaking countries) is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner. It is commonly found in the form of a rounded outgrowth on a tree trunk or branch that is filled with small knots from dormant buds​.
Burl's can be hard to find and can be are quite expensive to buy, this one is a very large cherry burl, given to me by friend Jess.
